WORKING CONDITIONS AND HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY
GOAL AND SCOPE
The goal of Human Rights Policy is to create a guide that represents the approach and standards of Pimsun Makine A.Ş. in terms of human rights and emphasize the importance that Pimsun Makine A.Ş. attaches to fundamental human rights in this way. All employees and executives of Pimsun Makine A.Ş. are responsible to act in accordance with this policy.
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. expect their business associates to act in accordance with this policy to the degree that it is applicable to the interested party and/or operation and take necessary steps to ensure this.
DEFINITIONS
“United Nations Guide to Human Rights and Business World” provides a global standard to prevent and handle activities that against human rights related with business. Since it is approved in the year of 2011, being respectful to human rights were formalized as a basic work responsibility by United Nations.
“United Nations Global Compact” consists of 10 principles determined in the scope of human rights, working conditions, environment and fighting against corruption. These principles are prepared with a guiding perspective for companies and institutions to reach higher goals in terms of sustainability and risk management, by this means contribute to increased productivity, employee’s motivation and commitment, brand awareness and new markets.
“Human rights” means rights peculiar to all people regardless of gender, race, color, religion, language, age, nationality, different opinion and wealth and consists equal, free and dignified right to live.
“Universal Declaration of Human Rights” is a milestone document in the history of human rights. The declaration that is prepared by representatives with different legal and cultural history from all around the World was announced as a mutual success for all human and all nations by General Assembly of the United Nations in Paris at December 10, 1948, and it is the first document that emphasize on protecting the fundamental human rights universally.
“Business Associates” includes supplier, client, all representatives and consultation that acts on the behalf of company’s fame and account.
“International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work”, was approved at 1998 and it explains that all members, even if they did not approve relevant agreements, is responsible for have respect to principles and rights in 4 categories below within the scope of good intentions, develop them and support them. Categories are below:
- Right to establish trade unions and recognize collective bargaining rights effectively,
- Eliminate all kinds of forced and involuntary work,
- End the child labor effectively,
- Eliminate the discrimination on employement process.
GENERAL PRINCIPLES
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. takes Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a guide for themselves and adopt a respectful understanding to human rights towards their partners in society which they operate. Creating and pursuing a positive and Professional work place is the core principle of Pimsun Makine A.Ş. Pimsun Makine A.Ş. acts in accordance with global ethical principles about recruitment, promotion, career development, pay, fringe benefits and diversity, and respects their employees’ rights to establish and join a non-governmental organization. Involuntarily work, child labor, all kinds of discrimination and harassment is not tolerated.

Pimsun Makine A.Ş. cares to respect employees, shareholders, supplier, customers and other citizens that got affected by product or services related to their activities by performing the principles of Universal Declaration of Human Rights and ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
Pimsun Makine A.Ş treats all their employees with honesty and fairly, takes the responsibility to provide a workplace that is respectful to human dignity, safe and healthy without discrimination.
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. pays attention to special conditions of groups (indigenous people; women; national or ethnic, religion and linguistic minorities; children; people with disabilities; migrant workers and their families) where their rights were explained in United Nations documents in detail as it was mentioned in United Nations Guide to Human Rights and Business World.
Diversity and Equal Recruitment Opportunities
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. tries to employ people from different cultures, experiences and personal background. Decision making process in recruitment is related to work requirements and personal qualifications without paying attention to race, religion, nationality, gender, age, marital status and disability.
Prevention of Discrimination
Zero tolerance towards discrimination is the fundamental principle in all recruitment, promotion and education processes. Pimsun Makine A.Ş. expects their employees to act with same sensitivity towards their actions to each other.

Zero Tolerance to Child Labor and Involuntary Work
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. strongly opposes to child labor that harms children physically and mentally and take away their rights to education. Also, Pimsun Makine A.Ş. opposes to unwillingly and involuntary work which is described as work under threat.
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. implement a zero-tolerance policy against slavery and human trafficking according to agreement and advices of International Labour Organization, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Global Compact, and expects their Business Associates to act accordingly.
Child Labor and Young Labor
We do not employ child labor in line with the principle of prohibition of child labor as set forth in the International Labor Organization Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We prohibit employment of anyone under the age of 18 for positions that require heavy and dangerous work. We expect the same from our business partners.
Forced Labor, Human Trafficking and Slavery
Pimsun Machinery Inc. strongly opposes child labor, which causes physical and psychological harm to children and deprives them of their right to education.
In addition, Pimsun Makine A.Ş. is against all forms of forced labor, defined as involuntary and threatened work.
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. implements a zero-tolerance policy against slavery and human trafficking in accordance with the conventions and recommendations of the International Labor Organization, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Global Compact, and expects all Business Partners to act accordingly.
Women Employment and Motherhood
Pimsun Makine A.Ş aims to encourage women’s participation to working life and increasing the women employment in workplaces.
Employed women employees are given unpaid maternity leave of 6 months and 1.5 hours breastfeeding leave in a day until child become 1 year old upon request alongside paid vacation from Labor Law before and after birth, and pregnant or nursing women cannot work more than 7.5 hours in a day.
Freedom of Unionization and Collective Bargaining
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. respects their employees to join a union without being afraid of quittance and rights to make collective bargaining. Pimsun Makine A.Ş. undertakes having a constructive dialogue with the freely chosen representatives of employees presented by a legal union.
Health and Security
Providing health and security of employees and other person in the work area of Pimsun Makine A.Ş. for any reason is one of the most important priority of Pimsun Makine A.Ş. Pimsun Makine A.Ş. provides a safe and healthy work place. Safety services are provided in a way that respectful to the everyone’s dignity, privacy, security and reputation.
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. follows relevant law and regulation and applies all necessary security measures in all work places.
In case of determining any unsafe conditions and actions, Pimsun Makine A.Ş. takes necessary measures in order to provide customer and employee’s health, safety and security.
Zero Tolerance to Harassment and Violence
The important way of protecting employees’ personal reputation is avoiding harassment and violence or approach it as necessary. Pimsun Makine A.Ş. undertakes to provide a workplace without violence, harassment or other unsafe or disturbing conditions derived from internal or external threats. For this reason, Pimsun Makine A.Ş. do not show any tolerance to any kind of physical, verbal, sexual or psychological harassment, bullying, abuse or threat.
Working Hours and Wages
Pimsun Makine A.Ş. adapt to regional legal working hours in order not to exceed weekly minimum working hours in the country it operates. It is important for employees to take regular breaks, vacations and have a sufficient work-life balance.
Wage determination process is created according to relevant sectors and regional labor force market competitively. All wages, social fringe benefits included, paid valid law and regulations.

Employees’ donation to a political party or candidate on their behalf do not restricted by Pimsun Makine A.Ş. In spite of that, the use of sources of Pimsun Makine A.Ş. for such donations or any other political activity is prohibited.
